It is very easy to transport small engines. You just remove the passenger seat. Put down some plywood to spread the weight. I have done it using many layers of cardboard boxes.
You can also make a nicer platform with walls. I suspect someone out there has made something, maybe even from metal, that attaches to the seat mounting bolts.
I never have needed to strap down these engines. I admit that would be safer.
