The Falcon ( Cd 0.45 ) had a lot lower drag than the T-bird ( Cd 0.70 ) going in, but I'm gonna guess that the Sports Car Class, with the ability to lose the windshield was very attractive, frontal area-wise.
'Competition Sports Cars' , according to Korff were already below Falcon, @ Cd 0.42.
The jump to Streamlined Competition Sports Car went to Cd 0.20.
The final leap to Streamliner was Cd 0.16 or lower ( MG EX-181 )
Three years later, Korff's Goldenrod would eclipse the MG, with Cd 0.117, and 409+ mph.
