If the ground is less than ideal, concrete blocks and wood all the way. The lowest rated concrete block is supposed to be able to take a 100,000lb load.
I have had jack stands start to sink, tilt, shift, settle. Concrete blocks dont.
I made wooden ramps out of some old cedar trees

The stepped ramps I made out of a bunch of 2x12’s make a graduated support device
