The quotes I got last year for electric HVAC on my 80 year old house were about double the heat only quotes. The mitsu high pressure system good to -14f was another 20% premium on top of that. 25% of the heat quotes costs were for ripping out the existing manifolds and putting in new insulated ceiling vents instead of current floor venting but not fixing the holes in the floor. We didn't do that but ended up superinsulating the existing ducting ourselves for about $100 and 8 hours labor
Just replacing the oil fired heat only system cost about the same as an electric heat only system so no major differences there.
Diy parts only were 1/4 the price of the install, using the same name brand system parts but I was unsure of my brazing skills. Turns out the fricking systems use compression fittings so I would have had to only buy a quality vacuum pump, pressure differential manifold gauges and a spool of insulated tubing. System was prefilled with freon no freon was added.
