My previous picture:
It looks worse! For the love of MacGyver, it looks worse! How did i swing that?!
I bought wet\dry sandpaper last night and while the back said something like 300-5,000 grit, in smaller print the front said 80-600.
I needed 600-3,000.
I redid the tape, used the 600, and went back for the package of 800-2,000 Autozone showed in their website, but I absolutely couldn't find it.
An employee found it for me. The wrong thing was in front of it and it had a different design than the picture showed.
I don't know if 2,000 grit was enough, but it hardly did anything, and I went from sanding for 30 seconds with 600 to 2 minutes with 2,000.
Everyone says to wrap the sandpaper around a sponge, but the finer the grit, the harder it was to keep it on the sponge.
Masking tape really doesn't work well around water., so it hardly did anything when I finished.
I don't know what is going on. I shined the headlight but it slowly clouded over. It was a clean washcloth.
I rinsed off each sheet after I used it, but the 600 grit blew away last night--the only sheet I need from the first package.
To recap: I ended up buying 2 packages of sandpaper, but even though it definitely did something, it actually looked worse because it clouded over, and the water quickly messed up the masking tape.
If only I had listened to freebeard and replaced my headlight with a slugbug!
