I have friends up the McKenzie with a Century farm. The EWEB power canal cut right through their property in the 1930s. The was a 90ft bridge over the canal that rotted away that they can't afford to replace. Meanwhile, they pay EWEB for power like they were downtown. And they don't dare dip even a flowmeter in the canal itself.
They have a micro-hydro opportunity with a creek that feeds the canal, but they don't care sufficiently. I donated some pieces and parts.
