You're correct that our affairs are out of our hands -- to a greater or lesser extent.
That's what I was getting at, that nobody unprompted just decides to change a long held and obscure password, but mom claims she did. I said to never click a link asking for information or to update anything, and she says she didn't. I guess she's doubling down on the "wanted to see what happens" explanation, which makes no sense in any number of infinite universes.

I believe we're free to make the decisions we were destined to. Also, paradox is a term to describe incomplete understanding. In other words; I know nothing.
