Just did a quick search on reTerminal and the links all dealt with Linux & RaspberryPi. The Nextion is a simple UART device. It has its own IDE for screen creation. If the reTerminal works for you, great. Stick with it. I like the universal UART feature of the Nextion, because it works with PIC, Atmel, Arduino, RaspberryPi, St, TI, ..... Anything with UART.
