I usually go to Tire Rack, put in my stock tire size, then sort by Consumers' Highest Rating. Out of the top three or four, I pick the one with the combination of best price, darkest green survey ratings, and most miles reviewed. I just checked for an 01 Corolla and your options are pretty thin in 14".
