Had I been living in a house with a reasonably-sized backyard I'd try to grow some staples, preferably organic in order to not have to rely so much on the fertilizers supplied from Russia. Brazil has a dangerous reliance on fertilizers from Russia, while many organic residues could be used as a feedstock not only for fertilizers but also for bio-CNG. Had the usage of domestic sewage not been such a taboo, and some substracts from the wastewater treatment plants been more widely accepted as a feedstock for fertilizer production, I'm sure it would be way easier to decrease the reliance on imported fertilizers.
