The biggest thing adversely affecting mpg now is acceleration. The vehicle is so heavy that it takes quite a lot of power to get up to speed. One thing I want to do to help this is to switch to a lighter wheel/tire combo. Currently the combined weight is 80 lbs. I can easily go down to 70 lbs and still have the load range E tires that I want. I'm hoping that will make some difference.
When you accelerate do you make a point to keep the trans around 2000rpm or less? My 04 would like to be about 2700 rpms on accelerations but i make a point to let off around 2k so it shifts.
