Wanting to fire up old Volvo

A friend of mine gave me 1979 Volvo 242. It is kind of a back burner project for me at this time. The car unfortunately has fuel in the oil, and I suspect this may be due to a bad fuel pump? After sitting a couple of years I got ambitious one day, and put a fresh battery in it and the motor spins over happily but does not fire. The common approach for me to usually do at this point would be to take the air cleaner off in put a few drops of gasoline into the carb and enjoy hearing it run. But this is fuel injection that I'm not familiar with whatsoever, and don't know what to take apart quickly and temporarily just to shoot some gas or starting fluid in.. Any suggestions? PS I'm willing to eventually put a new fuel pump on it, and change to fresh clean oil, but since the car is just sitting outside for 2 to 3 years, I thought at least hearing it run once in awhile would be better for it then doing nothing. I'm not trying to drive it, as the clutch seems to be pretty much at the end of its life. Long-term wise, if I want to put some money into it, I would like to use it as a rally car. If you have ever watched Swedish rally on YouTube, you can see how fun it would be to throw this car around sideways on logging roads and other gravel rural roads!!!
