I watched that. They kind of lost me with the speculative shape-from-reflection simulations.

I found it less than persuasive.

OTOH, the vitrified forts in Scotland attributed to a micro-nova have an alternative explanation.

Gorse and Scotch broom are very similar plants; both are legumes; they have almost identical flowers, pods, and leaves; the only apparent difference is that some of the leaves on the gorse develop as thorns. They also have a slightly different preference with respect to altitude. There is more gorse in the lowlands than the broom, in the highlands the ratio is reversed.
