i've been thinking on this for a MHEV motorhome concept i've been mulling over - it seems like there are a LOT of OEM products out there - but i don't really see any for sale direct, which i suspect means hoping to get lucky at a salvage yard.
if you are going to be at a salvage yard anyhow - i'm thinking i wanna look into retrofitting Honda's Integrated motor assist - while the gains may not be awe inspiring, it seems like it'd be a relatively low effort retrofit.
i'd link it, but, i don't have enough posts to do so.
I've also been kinda thinking about the parallel sierra setup that never quite caught on - but i'm not sure how complicated it'd be to control, where the IMA seems like you only need a few pieces of information, and regen would be inherent to the system. later flavors had stop/start as well.
on the other hand, a single one is only like, 25 ft/lbs so maybe it wouldn't be worth it.
i haven't been successful in tracking down retrofit write ups for either so far, but i suspect that i'm just not using the right terminology.
