Use copper nickel tubing on your brake lines. It is wonderful modern stuff, won't rust, easy to bend, easy to double flare without cracking and its cheap. I bought a roll of 3/16" copper nickel brake tubing on Amazon with a bunch of fittings for like $30. You don't even need a tubing bender unless you want a perfect tight radius.
