What they do locally is put up a flat roof on posts over the trailer. Which then proceeds to leak.

Were it I, I'd try to source some sections of roofing from these railway vehicle deilvery cars.

New or used. They should be 8ft 6in, IIRC. That should straddle an 8ft trailer, or you could cut them down to make a vaulted ceiling.
