I turned off the power while I was working, but turned it back on to test my work. The light and fan worked, but apparently I needed to turn off the power before reinstalling a metal cover.
It has bad wire management and it was extremely difficult to reinstall the cover because wires were always in the way.
I don't know how one got loose, but I guess it happened when I reinstalled the cover.
