Those were from the '90s already. As the Brazilian F-Series had a much slower evolution path than its counterparts elsewhere, the bumpside soldiered on until the early '90s, yet it was only released here after being phased out elsewhere. From late-'92 on, when the light-duty bricknose series was released here, this cowl was done that way because it was simpler to retain structural integrity as a single-piece fiberglass unit AFAIK.

The engines fitted to the medium-duty Brazilian F-Series were also naturally-aspirated until late-'98, when this model was replaced by the current generation still available in the United States and Canada, and which in Brazil was fitted with the Cummins 6BT until its phaseout in Brazil in late-'05. Ford of Brazil was quite hard to understand sometimes...
