I don't get hit by anything! I'm completely shielded by the atmosphere.
Solar protons and electrons are a normal component of the solar wind.
Ion acceleration in the first phase of a flare ( magnetic ) can be over in seconds.
Flares are asymmetrical in form.
Flares are 'geographically' located.
Flares have 'directionality.'
Magnetic acceleration of ions is directional.
I don't subscribe to your 'line-of-sight' homogeneous radiation.

I don't worry at all about space weather.
Those who conduct business in space are responsible for knowing the risks and designing accordingly.
