I've started keeping a bag of meal replacement powder, particularly for traveling. It compares poorly to a full English breakfast, but four scoops plus water keeps me filled past lunch, and as long as it isn't consumed too frequently, it's not half bad.
The most frequent meal replacement for me is a bag of peanuts, and once in a while some whole-grain bread too. And when I say whole-grain- it's the real stuff, not some sort of grey-dyed Wonder bread... Whole-grain bread is often pointed out as providing satiety more effectively than white bread.
