Ah - yes, the USA lags most of the world in emission and safety regulations. Our emission regulations were last changed in 2010 and even then they were years (maybe a decade) behind euro regulations. We are also just about the only wealthy nation that does not require motorcycles to have ABS. Even some middle and even low income nations require ABS today.
