A few hours ago I just saw a '71 Typ3 Variant shortened, seemingly both at the wheelbase and at the rear overhang. If I were drunk right now, most likely I'd say that would be perfect for a Suzuki Vitara body swap
On a sidenote, before FM became mainstream, some cars of that era had radios with only AM and one or 2 SW bands.
