I wouldn't own an old car that required service I wasn't going to do myself. Shops have no incentive to properly diagnose, and thereby keep costs as low as possible. They're going to say everything that has oil on it is leaking.

I take that back, I did hire a guy to rebuild the front end on the truck once, but that's because I knew what was bad and he quoted exactly how much he wanted to replace it, all in.
