Perhaps it was the concrete itself damaging the rocket, and not acoustics?

I thought pure oxygen was used because they run half atmospheric pressure or something in space. The less pressure they can use, the lighter the pressure vessels can be. Also, EVAs are easier to maneuver when the suit isn't trying to balloon out so forcefully.
