Exactly. Apple controls the hardware and software and their products just work seamlessly for the things most people use a phone or computer for. On the phone side they also support their phones for a minimum of 5 years and recently as long as 6. That compares to android where many phones never get an update from the original OS and even companies like Google only support their phones for 3 years. While the initial purchase price may be higher the cost per year of use for an iPhone is often less.

I recently purchased a set of Apple Airpod Pro 2 earbuds. (I've been experimenting with OTC hearing aids and the airpods have been clinically tested to do most of what a hearing aid can do). I've always resisted buying airpods because I think $250 is too much for earbuds but they do just work. They connect to my phones, personal computer, and work computer without fail or fuss. None of the frequent pairing issues I have with cheaper earbuds.

For OTC hearing aids I've tried Jabra Enhance Plus ($800), Eargo 7 ($3000), and now the AirPod Pro ($250) in the last 3 months.
