I guess cheaper renewables that cost more makes see if that person failed math.
I believe they are cheaper, at first. That first 10% or so of wind power and the first 1% to 2% of solar power is free money.
Then when it comes time to idle, hot stand bying thermal plants waiting for the wind to cut out and comes time to upgrade the entire power grid, employ batteries to make use of power sources that work when they want to no one bothers to refigure the costs.
In the end I think it will be another very expensive failed social experiment.
