You'd be disappointed driving in Texas.
On asphalt roads, paving contractors are using gravel aggregate so large that, the noise from the thrumming tires is so loud that one might pull off the roadway to inspect the car for something mechanically wrong.
And on concrete interstate highways, the drainage channels cut into the surface, depending on their orientation, may generate road noise so loud that you may also feel that there's something wrong.
