It was the longest day of the year. What did you accomplish?
I've forgotten most of it (credit union, groceries) but curiously, I also was tightening cables on a canopy.

The wind [or Mom!] had moved the portable garage about 3'[?], so I tried to bring it back, and line it up.

You are supposed to use little steel cables in clear sleeves to tie the anchors to the legs.

I think that something like a pipe clamp would be vastly better.

How do you tighten these stupid cables?!

I just got it as tight as I could with one hand and used an 8mm socket in my cordless screwdriver to tighten it.

I think the best way would be to use a good zip tie, attach the cable to the zip tie with cheap zip ties, and then tighten the cable.
I used 3/16" vinyl covered steel cable, cable clamps with 5/16" nuts, Zip ties and a 6" turnbuckle. Two clamps at each location, the snug but not tight Zip ties slide back and forth as needed. One can loosen one clamp and spread the cables inbetween then slide and retighten the other. Inchworm them along as far as possible, the tighten the turnbuckle.

The whole thing will be done soon, but I don't have a good battery for the camera.

The other thing was that I got in the Metro and started it up, and happened to glance at the guages and the gas guage was pegged at the bottom of reserve. So I got two gallons of year-old clear premium from the SUPERBeetle jerry can, and avoided being stranded somewhere up Main Street.

Other than that it was all schooling trolls in The Lounge.
