For me it started out as a way to save money through modification to make a car more fuel efficient. Not modern cars are so efficient from factories that there aren't many modes that make economic sense.
Today it is more a place to talk about efficiency tech than to actually find ways to mod cars.
EDIT: Looking at the poll results people are voting more than once. I guess that makes up for the poor poll choices. Ecomodding is all of the above and more.
