Insane that the county doesn't have to pay for damages after raiding a house on false claims.
Is the "confidential informant" in prison for false reporting? Seems like they would ultimately be responsible for the damage.
Anyhow, it's silly that "SWATting" is even a thing. At minimum, an informant should have to identify themselves to the police and be legally liable for the accusation.
I've been arrested at gunpoint while having a bonfire on my own property by the sheriff department. They claimed someone called in trespassing... on my property. Instead of instantly releasing me and apologizing for the inconvenience, they insisted on asking if I might be involved in anything illegal. How many times do I have to say get off my property.
