Fifteen years? Something is holding you back.
You could dual-boot from a partition on the hard drive, reboot from a USB drive, or boot from a CD if it is equiped. Temporarily, just to try it out. ....before running back to the smothering embrace of Windows.
I'm glad I never went down that path; although I'm still waiting on Aisha Linux on Apple M1 silicon so there is an alternative to Mac OS.
