First off, who still has a phone plan where they pay per text? Hilarious.

I just shipped a big block Chevy engine/v-drive combo on a 67x45 skid from the San Fransisco area to a guy in S. Carolina. He said he paid $500 for the shipping. It was a father/son team with a 30’ flatbed behind a Ford F-350 pickup. They had a chiropractors bed and 2 crates of pool noodles when they got to my place. They just zig-zag across the country picking up and dropping off whatever wherever. Probably no insurance or license and i’m guessing you shouldn’t be in a hurry.

I’m about to have a boat (28’, 13k lbs on its own trailer) shipped from VT to California for $7k.

If you know anyone that does a lot of shipping, ask them to arrange and you pay them. The difference in price between a multi-repeat client and a one-off shipper is mind boggling.
