I mean, every ecomodder knows a hitch mounted carrier is way more efficient than roof mounted.
Slightly back on topic, I still think there's something to be gained by an appropriately sized and shaped hitch mounted carrier. The trick would be not occluding the lights, and not obstructing the rear view window.
