Thanks for asking. The biggest waste was ripping a bevel on 2x4 or 2x6 to frame the panels. Any size other than 39ft (at 3v) wastes paneling material. The panels were engineered with studs 16" on center, totally inappropriate for a triangular panel.
Fuller's public domain HexaPent patent has simplified infill and fewer edges.
Substituting metal studs for wood would allow simply bending the dihedral angle.
Further gains from taking the 8ft dimension as the altitude rather than the base of a hex panel.
And I'm pretty sure the tree branch was projected from a slide rather than freehand. The living room walls were painted Flamingo.
