In a way, I find it disappointing that the production model seems to have scrapped the three seat design. It makes sense in terms of sales, though. I think cars like the Honda Insight and CRX could have been made as three seaters.
My hatchback doesn’t have much for taper at the rear, and if I were to mess with the stock bodywork I would need to find a different rear windshield. That opens a whole can of worms in my mind.
For example, if I were to imitate that Citroen I linked, then I would dig up some previous plans I had drawn. The idea was to take the sunroof mechanism out of my crashed ‘97 and turn that into a rear windshield. Could function like the sliding rear glass on a newer Toyota 4Runner. The sunroof is at a decent width to act as a rear windshield, and I could taper the C-pillars accordingly. I would have a limited degree of taper due to the doors and B-pillars being pretty far back on the car.
