On snow and ice, a small amount of torque on the rear wheels may be all that's needed to get unstuck.
Then again, if I needed (and I mean actually needed, not pretend needed like most people) it would either be something with some serious ground clearance (for deep snow driving, in snow towing, snow plowing and snow-or-not off-roading) or a Toyota Corolla GR (for my racing career, obviously).
