Franz Von Holzhausen appears to attribute only an 'acoustic' advantage to the trailing edge of the bonnet/hood, not a Cd reduction.

SPIRIT has the 'hidden wipers' and in the wind tunnel footage you can see how the flow 'jumps' over this region.
With the Dodge Viper windshield installed on SPIRIT, and completely sealing closed this cowl area, it only reduced drag by 5-counts ( Cd 0.005 ).

From Dr. Hucho's reporting, designers have a tremendous amount of 'shape' latitude down to Cd 0.15, after which options become extremely constrained.

As to the AFEELA, not only does it's greenhouse 'disappear', the roofline contour continues further rearwards, cutting below the beltline, into the lower body, continuing pressure recovery, along with wake reduction. The surface is as steep as 23.5-degrees to the horizon, walking a knife's edge with separation.
