I have the same gen corolla and am looking for a PS delete. This is all new to me.
So all your doing is changing the belt for a shorter one without the PS pulley connected? You are not draining the PS fluid, looping the lines or anything? You are doing nothing else to the PS?
All the other examples have people draining all the PS fluid as from my understanding with the fluid still there its more difficult to turn the wheel, no? Or just the lines being full of fluid still not make a difference?
