PAL-V, the flying thing?

This thing reminds me of a futuristic Archie, or maybe an Archie for rich people, which makes sense, because they hope to market this drivable gyrocopter for 300-400k Euros, whatever that is in real money.

More than I will ever have to spend on a vehicle?

That's what I thought!

They had a number of prototypes; but one was street legal and leaned into curves, but the heavily-supercharged Mazda rotary engine wasn't powerful enough to fly. so they ended up using two plane engines
The second prototype was certified to fly and flew.
One plane engine is just clean enough to pass emissions, so it only uses one one on the ground.

The front looks the way it does because that is the minimum width of headlights.

It is a trike because motorized quadricycles require airbags, which are prohibited on aircraft.

It doesn't have HVAC and the windows don't open, the bottom of the door is also a window. I also saw this video:

Ten years ago, I had a unique problem. When I first insured my vehicle and went through ICBC to register it, they mistakenly classified it as a motorcycle. This was a major issue, because, as you can see, I'm not riding a motorcycle! My controls are inside a cockpit, not handlebars. Unfortunately, this meant the registration got pulled.

It took six months, but I worked with the BC Ministry of Transportation to create a new category for three-wheeled vehicles. This wasn't an easy feat, and it involved collaboration with the two heads of the department.

Why am I telling you this? Because my persistence back then is why vehicles like the Slingshot and the T-Rex are now available!
Hopefully one of these trikes finally succeeds!
