Hello everyone! It's been a while. Like, years. The 1986 Tempo Diesel had to be retired, didn't bring it to Cali when we moved. But, did find a couple other gas savers to replace it. So, here they are and the story behind them.

2008 Toyota Prius. First, don't get to excited with this one. It's a beater, but it runs and drives great. Girl my wife works with drove it to work one day, but couldn't get it started when it was time to leave. She was going to pay $50 to have it towed to the junkyard. Figured, maybe I can fix it, so gave her $200 and had it hauled home at my expense. Not even making this up, it was OUT OF GAS! Put some gas in, it ran. Did have some additional work needed, but still drive this car regularly. Replaced battery cells a few times, fixed the HID lights with LEDs, wheel bearings, 12v battery, tires, spark plugs, coolant bypass motor, and a few other odds and ends.

2010 Toyota Prius. Just finished this one up. Bought it for $1k with a blown up motor. This thing really decided to self ventilate, threw a rod out BOTH sides of the block. Still ran, but man it was loud. Body was in good shape though. Got a good running motor for $1450 (ouch). New motor ran good after installing it, but had a Check Hybrid System on the dash. Replaced a couple cells in the hybrid battery, but the codes POB47, U0100 & U0293 came back. Turns out the Voltage Regulator Sensor had corrosion on one terminal and after taking it apart, the board was fried. After replacing that, it runs great and we're driving it around. Put around $3500 in it total. Not bad for a good looking 3rd Gen. Plus, having fixed it myself, further repairs won't be so bad.
