A low arched dome maximizes floor area, a high arch maximizes volume and floor levels. More enclosed air is a good thing, especially if it is shaped to induce circulation instead of stagnation.

Interior radial walls are permissible. High arch domes have an obtuse angle at ground level.

Au contraire -- Dome provide a clear span without the unusable space trusses require. Double shells like the Montreal Expo domes excepted.

What I'd really want is a dome with transparent glass panels, and a reflective LCD component that can selectively turn each panel opaque/reflective. If the opacity could be controlled, the house could be turned into a 1-way mirror to provide privacy and a view.
