Caps in series act like resistance in parallel, you get something around half the value. Electrolytics paralleled back to front protect each other on AC, btdt, but generally not considered relaible. Btdt also, can you say explosive disassembly?
Not sure if capacitance doubles back to back. Does in parallel but if the electrolytic doesnt properly form, it doesn't produced "rated" capacitance.
