Combined heat and power from old chip oil

Ken Boak runs an old Lister on old veg oil.
It turns a generator and the heat goes into the house:

Some numbers from a forum post by him:
https://www.thegreenlivingforum.net/...pic.php?t=9612

The efficiencies are roughly as follows:

Fuel burn rate 12.989kW 100%
House heating load 5.86kW 45.1%
Electricity load 1.94kW 14.9%
Losses (shed warming) 5.19kW 40.0%

Details of CHP run :

Engine run time 13.75 hours
Fuel used 19 litres
Fuel energy content 178.6 KWh
Fuel burn rate 1.38 litres/hr or 12.989KW

Electricity metered 26.7 kWh

Average electric load 1.94kW
KWh generated per litre 1.4 (as measured on the Ofgem approved meter on the output of the alternator)

Heating rate (9pm-10pm) 343 litres at 14.7 C temperature difference
(flow=63.6C, return = 48.9C) = 5.86 kW

Average heating rate - estimated at 5kW
