Just got the modded thermostat in and so far so good. No problems bleeding the system, but I went through the proper coolant fill procedure. The initial coolant fill may have took a little longer than expected, but nothing terrible.

I haven't had a chance to try the block heater or drive it enough to get an idea of warmup and cool down times, but I will say that the top of the radiator stayed ice cold the whole time I was filling it until the thermostat starting opening at around 180 degrees. It was only about 25 degrees outside, but that's still a bit unusual.
