Hi mate!
No, haven't close it down at all. I've just got back from a drive actually and still going on this tank. I'm 180km in and still have the dash showing 700km+ remaining haha. The dash is showing a tank efficiency of 4.3L/100km (54.7USmpg) which isn't bad for a combined town/highway useage. I tend to drive slightly fast on the highway, too, so slowing down to a legit 100kmh instead of 115kmh or so would probably help but I don't like constantly getting overtaken so 110kmh would probably be as slow as I'll go.
At this stage I'm also considering getting a block heater to help with warmups as winter is coming and even here in Australia my area does get frosts and the occasional night-time low of -7'C (20'F) or lower. My relatively short ~7 minute morning commute usually only sees the car just warmed up nicely as I arrive at work so a heater would help aid economy with pre-warming.
I won't have any data on the PTFE until I get a baseline for the car without. I want at least 3 tanks before I use the PTFE - that seems fair.
The factory mods for the underbody streamlining mainly had a slightly lower front lip combined with an overall lower ride height and extended undertray. Nothing special but it all adds up. I'm looking at finding a similar-year model in a wreckers so I can poach its rear spoiler and do an aero-extension to streamline the rear some more while still looking reasonably factory.
The car is indeed a tad noisy compared to say a base Fiesta or Mazda 2 (both share the same platform) however its really only noticeable on acceleration. Its nothing offensive or overly intrusive but definitely noticeable when coming from a standard petrol-engined hatch. Personally I like it - its kind of endearing.
