Well...I wouldn't wish that on everyone but one benefit of higher gas prices is a heightened awareness of conservation among the "common people." There are 100 negatives to higher gas prices though.
Fortunately, I am a low-end gas user (about 1 tank a month...22-25 gallons) so gas prices only usually cost me an extra $10-20 a month.
