Hey Ampeater, I just wanted to say that I'm a complete electricity nut as well. My son's middle name is Tesla, to give you an idea... I'm currently stuck in Iraq, but am seriously considering doing an EV conversion when I get home. I had the idea just the other day when I was looking at the range on some of these EVs... "why doesn't someone put a diesel generator in one of these things?" And that's how I stumbled upon your thread. I've been told many times, by many people that I couldn't do something electrically related. Just wanted to let you know, that I've been in your shoes plenty of times, and it's always great to prove em' wrong. In any event, I can't wait to see what kind of range you get with a generator. I want a small 900cc kubota, but I have 6 months left in the desert, and am just going to be waiting for a really good deal on e-bay/craigslist.
