I hardly jumble the numbers myself, but did have to on account of a sticky speedometer (learning gear calc through a 4x4 little sube, may as well figure out gas mileage while I was at it)
Just last evening I realized my mods go way dynamical, it can happen to all engines.

91 miles in 55 minutes in the pouring rain .... 182 mile round trip (stranded relative in the wilderness...with the only gas station closing.... ) anyway, I was following the 100mph 4dr jeep. Extra safe evening.
Nearly full about 14 gallons. started the car today to see the red light on for gas. (My second time in 10years). that equates to terrible. The same engine (a 1781cc boxer) goes all the way to 50s mpg in the nice weather.
This time of year is a battle for cars until metals change to the season, gas does too. Can't really blame all ourselves and lead feet.
