diesel john, the hand throttle allows me to more precisely control the throttle position than I can accurately do with the foot pedal. This is especially useful when working at low power settings that are aren't very far above idle and keeping it from dropping low enough to inadvertantly go into engine braking mode.

MitchJi, I couldn't quite figure out your pictographs. The side skirts on my car run from the back of the front wheel well to the front of the rear wheel well. On each side, the outer side skirt is even with the outer edge of the tires and the inner side skirt is even with the inner edge of the tires. They serve to funnel the turbulence coming off the back of the front wheel between them so it doesn't mix with the smooth airflow under the rest of the car. There is a wheel spoiler in between the side skirts just ahead of the rear wheel well that diverts the airflow contained in between the side skirts downward just ahead of the rear tire.
