Phil, I had no idea you still had the Ghia ! We think alike !
I too have thought of modding a Ghia ( I'll have to create a post on the topic with images - I even created a digital, as well as scale model of the idea.

Mine would be electric as well.

( I would hate to butcher an old classic Ghia though, so I have been thinking of a Mazda MX-3 instead. Also, an MX-3 is safer ( disc brakes, air bag etc )

A teardropped Ghia has a certain elegance to it that I think would be more 'socially acceptable' as a 'hot rod' sort of mod.
